What we store, and what we do not.

No account, no name, no answers sent anywhere.

This page describes the current site. If we ever add accounts, advertising or sponsored content, we will write here first what would be collected, what it would be used for, who would handle it, and how to stop it.

What stays on your device

local storage only

Three small things are written to your browser’s local storage. None of them is sent to us or to anyone else.

  • Articles marked “done”The page URL and its title, so the discovery notebook can list them. No answers, no notes, no timings.
  • Text sizeWhether you chose normal, large or largest.
  • Furigana settingWhether reading aids above Japanese characters are shown or hidden.

Analytics

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and see which articles are read. It is configured for aggregate reporting; we do not build profiles of individual visitors, and we do not ask for or store anything that identifies a child. Session-recording and heatmap tools are not used on this site.

You can block analytics with your browser’s tracking protection or an extension. The site works exactly the same either way — nothing here is gated behind it.

Removing what is stored

two ways
  1. Use the button

The discovery notebook has a “clear everything” button that removes the saved list immediately.

  2. Clear site data

Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes the saved list, the text size and the furigana setting together.
